Itinerary: 8 Days

A complete discovery of the highlights of Northern Oman in luxury hotels : mountain oasis, the Grand Canyon, Wahiba sands, the turtles, the Wadis, and some days relaxing in a beach hotel.

Day One

Some of the sights we'll be looking at include walking through Wadi Zamah (The Snake Canyon) and discovering "The Hidden Village" of Balad Sit, built in a small hill ad surrounded by cliffs. We cross the mountains through Sharaf Al Amain Pass and back to Wadi Bani Awf to absorb the stunning views.

We then move on to Misfat Al Abreyen, a beautiful mountain village in Oman. The gardens were built all around the village on man-made terraces laying at an altitude of 800 meters full of bananas, papayas, oranges, dates and much more. 

Day Two

We start the day with a walk at Al Khitaym, with long wonderful views on Arabia's grand Canyon. On the way, we will be able to see the highest point of the country, and then finally we arrive at an old abandoned village built on a cliff, Sab Bani Khamis.

 

We spend the rest of the day uncovering the Nizwa Fort, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oman that showcases old Omani Architecture that tells us how people in Oman used to live in Ancient Times. 

Day Three

We visit the Nizwa Souq, located at the foot of the mountains in the interior. The livestock souq is particularly worth a visit. But you find also the fish souq, vegetable souq, meat souq, as well as some people saling moutain honey, dates, incense, and anything you might need. On the slope of Jebel Akhdar (on top of Wadi Al Muaydeen) lay the villages of Al Ayn Al Aqoor and Sharegah which are full of aesthetic gardens enchanting to the eyes and nose. 

 

We end our day at a nice boutique hotel located in Jebel Akhdar on the top of a cliff overlooking the villages of Al Ayn and Sharegah and their terraces

Day Four

We will explore the ruins of one of the most famous villages in Oman, Birkat al Mouz after which we go for a short hike from the lovely village of Bidah to to the rugged beautiful landscape of Wadi Bani Khalid where we can go for a swim in this secluded place. 

 

Soon after, we'll go for a trip to see the remote village of Bidiyah, and then move on to set up and settle down at the Wahiba Sands where you'll enjoy a walk across the dunes late afternoon and enjoy the soft sunlight that bid farewell as the orange sunset smiles on you. 

Day Five

After a night at the Wahiba Sands, we'll re-visit the cozy comfort of Bidiyah after which we move on to see the big city living quietly, Sur. Built on the seahore, extending to a wonderful port  - it is a famous city well known for its naval infrastructure. Next up is Ras Al Hadd, also known as The Turtle Beach, has been declared a Natural Reserve because of the green turtles that come to lay eggs.

 

We indulge in night-time turtle watching along the coast. We spend the rest of the evening at The Turtle Beach Resort with a bar and restaurant located in an old Arabic Dhow. 

Day Six

 From the beautiful Ras Al Had, we head to a village called 'Samyah' and go on a hike to see the view unfold the stunning scenery that is Wadi Tiwi. Densely populated with palm trees, this river looks as if it is green in color.

 

We walk through the Wadi, along the river and above the boulders to arrive to a nice pool surrounded by cliffs where we can take a break and go for a swim around its waters to discover more of this enchanted place. We spend the rest of the evening at the Wadi Shab Resort overlooking the blue sea ahead of Tiwi.

Day Seven & Eight

We go for a drive and make our way to the East of Muscat in Marina Town called "Sifah". This cozy yet modern town has much to offer - some of Oman's most exclusive hotels and resorts can be found here welcoming guests from all over the world.

 

The surrounding landscape is a dream for the active and adventurous and those seeking tranquility and quiet during their getaway. Here, you can enjoy the sophisticated marina port and enjoy the most beautiful coast near Muscat.
